Lower Dolpo Trek gives an awesome experience to walk around the remote sets and see the stunning rain shadow scenery of the huge Himalayas. Plus, the multicolored desolate slopes of the peaks are totally fascinating. Lower Dolpo Trek is occupied by pre-Buddhist Bon Po religion. Additionally, we also traverse two high passes- Numa La and Baga La-and walk around the serene Phoksundo Lake.

We will fly to Nepalgunj and then take a flight to Juphal to begin our trek. The town is wonderfully situated above the Himalayan foothills. You will catch the awesome sight of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains lying to its north. Also, we will trek to Tarakot, walking next to Tarap Chu River and visit Sandul Gompa, which is located at a union point between Barbung River and Tarap Chu River. Likewise, we will traverse a narrow gorge and move away the tree line at the back of us to get to Dho Tarap village surrounded by an uneven stone wall. And walking beside Tarap Chu River, we can enjoy astonishing views of the vast Tarap gorge. Also, we need to walk on a steep to way to get to the top edge of the Numa La pass (5,190m). And another steep ascend up will take us to the peak of Baga La pass. Significantly, we will get to enjoy the most pleasant day as we reach at the huge and serene Phoksundo Lake.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m)
You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. One of the representatives from Destination Unlimited Treks & Expeditions will welcome you and help you transfer to our hotel after completing formalities. At hotel, you will meet our guide. In the evening, you can enjoy Nepalese cuisine in one of the first- class traditional Nepalese restaurants in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day, after having your breakfast, you will depart for going around most historical and holy fascinations in Kathmandu. Most of the places you visit on this day are enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square which are speckled with several small and big temples carved with beautiful arts. Also, you will visit the holy Hindu temple Pashupati Nath, Swayambhunath known as ‘Monkey Temple’, and one of the large Stupas in the world-Boudhanath. Likewise, on this day you will also prepare for trekking. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu
We will fly to Nepalgunj which takes an hour. Nepalgunj lying in western part of Nepal is set near the Nepal-India border. It is an attractive Terai town where you can visit the local market, nearby villages etc. Overnight in Nepalgunj.

Day 04: Fly to Jhupal (Dolpo) (2,320m) and trek to Dunai (2,850m) around 3 hours trek
We will take a 45 minutes flight to Juphal. The town is wonderfully situated above the Himalayan foothills. You will catch the awesome sight of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains lying to its north. From here, we will walk all the way through terraced farms to the Bheri River. We keep on walking to get to Dunai where we will stay overnight.

Day 05: Dunai to Tarakot (2,543m) around 6 hours
We will on this day walk on the southern shore of the Bheri River. Also, we will pass through more than a few deep gorges as well as remote villages. Our track also includes a wonderful ravine with pine woods. On the way, we will greeted by the terraced farms of Tarakot, a small community lying on a hillock. Overnight in Tarakot.

Day 06: Tarakot to Laini (3,160 m) around 7 hours
Moving ahead from Tarakot, we will walk next to Tarap Chu river and traverse it twice before we reach at Sandul Gompa. The monastery is located at a union point between Barbung River and Tarap Chu river. We will go on walking on a track that takes us all the way through terrace farms and rural settlemnts. Trekking ahead, we to conclude for this day reach Laini. Overnight in Laini.

Day 07: Laini to Nawarpani (3,545m) around 6 hours
We will go up on a steep track and walk over the Tarap River. The stroll is quite thrilling as the valley turn into a narrow canyon. We will also climb and move down that takes us to the shores of the Chyugur River, from where we get to Nawarpani. Overnight in Nawarpani.

Day 08: Nawarpani to Do Tarap (4,090m) around 8 hours
We will begin ascending to Kamattarka at the union of the Tarap Chu and Lang River. We will traverse a narrow gorge and move away the tree line at the back of us and get to see wild rose as well as juniper bushes. Also, we will pass by Dho Tarap village surrounded by an uneven stone wall. Tarap is also occupied by a small number of Tibetans and regularly Magars. Overnight in Do Tarap.

Day 09: Acclimatization in Do Tarap
We will have a day rest in Do Tarap to let our body get accustomed with the environment. We can go around close by monasteries. Also, you will get the chance to see local culture and notice inhabitants wearing homespun outfits. People here out on sacred amulets as well as strings of coral, turquoise and other stones. Overnight in Do Tarap.

Day 10: Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4440m): around 7 hours
On this day, we will trek to the upper Tarap and get rewarded by the views of verdant grasslands set on two sides of Tarap Chu river. We will walk beside the river and take pleasure from the astonishing views of the vast Tarap gorge. Also, we will reach at Tokyu village which holds a Buddhist monastery that belongs to the Chiba sect. Walking up the valley on a uneven trail prior to reaching the Numa La Base Camp. Overnight in Numa La Base Camp.

Day 11: Trek to Pelung Tang (4465m): Cross Numa La pass (5,190m), around 7 hours
We will have a challenging and lengthy day as we move ahead from Numa La Base Camp Today is going to be the toughest and one of the longest days of our trek. We need to walk on a steep to way to get to the top edge of the Numa La pass (5,190m). Here the awesome views of the desolate peaks of Dolpo to Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) will greet you. From Numa La, we will move down to Pelung Tang to stay overnight.

Day 12: trek to Dajok Tang (4,080m) via Baga La pass (5,070m) around 6 hours
As we move ahead from Pelung Tang we will start our steep ascend up to the peak of Baga La pass. From here, we get incredible views of the arid countryside and the far-flung snowy peaks including Mt. Kanjirowa. At the pass we will be captured by the breathtaking views. We will walk to Dajok Tang to stayovernight.

Day 13: Dajok Tang to Ringmo (3,600m) around 4 hours
We will walk side by side with stunning pine forests as well as alpine vegetation. We will walk on an easy trail to reach Ringmo Village which is a Tibetan settlement of the Dolpo region. Overnight in Ringmo.

Day 14: Trek to Phoksundo Lake
This is one of the significant days of the trek as we will walk around the huge Phoksundo Lake. On the way, we will notice yak caravans. Also, we will explore around close by monastery. At the Phoksundo Lake, we can take pleasure from the serene beauty of the lake while walking around shores. Overnight at Phoksundo.

Day 15: Phoksundo Lake to Shyanta (2520m) around 6 hours
We will depart from the set of beautiful Phoksundo lake and move downhill to Chepka. The path takes us through an enormous hanging rock. Also, we will discover significant medicinal minerals that can heal more or less all disease. The way after that passes all the way through villages, prior to climbing to Shyanta. Overnight in Shyanta.

Day 16: Shyanta to Jhupal
On this day, we will leave Shyanta and walk to Sulighat on a track bounded by birch woods. The stunning views of the peak above us from here and Jhupal Village below will captivate us. We need to be careful enough to walk on the trail. At Jhupal, we can explore around the busy market. Overnight in Jhupal.

Day 17: Fly to Nepalgunj, and fly to Kathmandu
We will on this day fly to Nepalgunj from Juphal. We will then fly to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj. In Kathmandu, you can just relax after the long trek or walk around and do some shopping. In the evening, we will get to enjoy farewell dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Departure
On this day, our representative will drive you to the airport. Hope to see you again
