Humla, Simikot, Limi Valley Trek has been opened for trekking for foreigners only in since 2002. Limi valley lies in the far west region of Nepal and it is set near to the Tibet border, north of Humla district. While trekking the traditional Tibetan culture can be noticed. It is in one of the a strenuous trek as you need to cross two high passes Nara la Pass(4580m) and Nyalu La Pass(4988m). Moreover you can walk around ancient monasteries on the way.

To begin our trek, we will fly to Simikot. We will begin walking from Simikot to the Lakhna pass. Walking from Dharapuri, the eye-catching Chya Chhahara cascade becomes visible. We will now walk on a flat trail that takes us to Kermi. You may also visit attractive Buddhist monasteries near to Kermi -The Laikyo Gompa and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa. Also, trek on a flat trail to reach Yalbang where we can visit Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery. Similarly, in Tumkot, you can visit the Dhungkar Choezam Monastery which is set on the hill. Besides, walking on a flat trail for an hour, we will get to Thado Dhunga (4043m) which is the foot point of the Nara la pass (4580m). Moreover, during the trek, we will also pass the Chukrangma Pass (4145m) and then pass through Namka Lagma pass ( 4340m). On the way to Namka Lagma Pass, we will see a number of Buddhist meditation caves. Plus, the elegant views of the adjacent mountains will captivate us. Also, you can visit the Drikung Kagyu Waltse Rincheling Monastery, the oldest in Humla located in Halji. Furthermore, we will reach at the Tshom Tso which is attention-grabbing. We will also ascend to the top of the Nyalu La Pass (4988m).

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m)
You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. One of the representatives from Destination Unlimited Treks & Expeditions will welcome you and help you transfer to our hotel after completing formalities. At hotel, you will meet our guide. In the evening, you can enjoy Nepalese cuisine in one of the first- class traditional Nepalese restaurants in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day, after having your breakfast, you will depart for going around most historical and holy fascinations in Kathmandu. Most of the places you visit on this day are enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square which are speckled with several small and big temples carved with beautiful arts. Also, you will visit the holy Hindu temple Pashupati Nath, Swayambhunath known as ‘Monkey Temple’, and one of the large Stupas in the world-Boudhanath. Likewise, on this day you will also prepare for trekking. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 03: Flight to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu (1 hour) and flight to Simikot(2950m) from Nepalgunj (45 minutes)
Since Simikot runway is still not paved, therefore, you have to be prepared that if weather turns bad because of cloud and rain flights will be postponed. Overnight at Simikot.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapuri (2270m) around 5 hours walk
We will begin walking from Simikot to the Lakhna pass taking around an hour. After that, we will walk on a steep descending path to reach at the Takuri settlement named as Majgaon. You will then walk further all along the stunning Karnali River. We will come at a point where we will traverse a suspension bridge to get there in Dharapuri. Overnight at Dharapuri.

Day 05: Trek to Kermi (2670m) around 5 hours walk
We will on this day walk on a rising and falling trail yet the trek will be rather easy. Walking for around 3 hours, the eye-catching Chya Chhahara cascade becomes visible. We will now walk on a flat trail that takes us to Kermi. Here you van visit or dip yourself in natural hot springs and relax. You may also visit attractive Buddhist monasteries near to Kermi -The Laikyo Gompa and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa. You need to walk for around half an hour from the campsite to visit these monasteries. Overnight at Kermi.

Day 06: Trek to Yalbang (3020m) Around 7 hours walk
We will have easy walk next to lush green scenery to reach the Salli Lagna Pass set at an altitude of 2840m. We will then walk down to get to the shore of Salli River. After that we will go across the suspension bridge and trek on a flat trail to reach Yalbang. Here too, we can visit Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery which lies above our campsite. It is the major monastery in the area holding more than one hundred monks. You can see holy rituals going on daily in the morning and evening. Overnight in Yalbang.

Day 07: Trek to Tumkot (3060m) around 6 hours walk
On this day you will walk higher over the Karnali River. The setting changes and becomes rockier with fewer trees. Walking for around 4 hours, you will traverse the Karnali river through a suspension bridge to get there in Muchu. Muchu is a striking village which is offers home stay accommodation facilities for you. From Muchu, the Tumkot campsite is just a steady thirty minute descending way. In Tumkot, after setting the camp, you can visit the Dhungkar Choezam Monastery which is set on the hill and it takes around 30 minutes to reach there. Overnight at Tumkot.

Day 08: Trek to Yari (3788m) around 6 hours walk
We will depart from Tumkot to climb to a more barren environment. While walking, you will see a Chinese Bulldozer trying to shape a road to join to Simikot. As we reach at Yari we will set our camp. Yari is a spectacularly charming spot with a great sight of the snow topped mountains. Overnight at Yari.

Day 09: Trek to Hilsa (3720m) through the Nara la Pass(4580m) Around 8 hours walk
This is one of the demanding day and we will be walking for around 8 hours. Therefore, we will be starting early. Walking on a flat trail for an hour, we will get to Thado Dhunga (4043m) which is the foot point of the Nara la pass. Nara La Pass is located at an altitude of 4580m. Climbing ahead, we will reach Sip Sip, a small village set at the height of4300m. Then, you will have two choices for traversing the Nara la Pass. The first alternative is to go after the shorter and steeper way to get to the peak. The second alternative is to go behind the older track which is lengthy. Though the second option is longer, this option will let you witness the grander views to Tibet. We will then descend down to Hilsa. Overnight in Hilsa.

Day 10: Trek to Manepeme Campsite (3990m) Around 5 hours walk
We will walk ahead from Hilsa. We will have a challenging one hour way up from Hilsa to catch the trail and observe the Karnali River. We will be walking on a flat path for around 4 hours and then relax seeing the dramatic and desolate landscape. Overnight at Manempeme.

Day 11: Trek to to Til Campsite (3700m) Around 8 hours walk
We will on this day have a lengthy walk on fairly demanding trails with two passes. We w ill firstly pass the Chukrangma Pass located at an altitude of 4145m and then pass through Namka Lagma pass set at the elevation of 4340m which takes around five hours. On the way to Namka Lagma Pass, we will see a number of Buddhist meditation caves. Plus, the elegant views of the adjacent mountains will captivate us. Then we will continue walking for two more hours to reach Til which is a traditional Tibetan settlement. The spot has arresting stone architecture and is situated along the Til river. We will set camp at Til to stay overnight.

Day 12: Trek to Halji (3680m) Around 2 hours walk
We will depart from Til along the Limi River and beautiful rock formations to get to Halji, another Tibetan settlement which embraces similar stone architecture like that of Til. Halji River flowing gracefully all the way through from here is another amazing part to see on this day. Also, you can visit the Drikung Kagyu Waltse Rincheling Monastery built in the 10th century and is counted as the oldest in Humla. Overnight in Halji.

Day 13: Trek to Tatopani Campsite(4093m) Around 4 hours walk
We will get to the next Tibetan settlement named Jang after walking for about 3 hours from Halji. Here we can visit Jang’s Falgeling Monastery. Then, we will trek for around 45 minutes from Jang to reach Taopani. Tatopani literally means hot water which has a natural small hot spring. Overnight in Tatopani after dipping yourself in hot water.

Day 14: Trek to Talung Campsite(4370m) Around 7 hours walk
On this day, we will trek along the Tankche River for around two hours to reach the Tungling set at 4370m. We will also traverse a suspension bridge over the river after carrying enough essentials for upcoming days. After that we will go across a rather large sand hill. Then, we will take off our boots to cross the Tankche River which is rather cold. The Tshom Tso lake appears as we cross the river. The lake is attention-grabbing. Walking ahead from the lake, we will walk on a flat trail to get to Tungling where we set our camp for overnight.

Day 15: Trek to Shinjungma (3850m) through the Nyalu La Pass (4988m) around 8 hours walk
This is one of the most rewarding day yet challenging. In the beginning we will walk on a flat trail. Also, again we need to go across the river without bridge. Then, we will ascend to reach at the top of the Nyalu La Pass located at the height of 4988m. The climb is comparatively challenging yet the stunning views are splendid. Then, we will make way down to witness wonderful Selima Tso lake. We will descend further to reach Shinjungma and on the way we will get to observe beautiful Sung sa waterfall, wonderful views of Saipal, and lush green forest. Overnight at Shinjungma.

Day 16: Trek to Dhad Kermi (2690m) around 7 hours walk.
We will leave Shinjungma, and walk on an easy trail along the Salli Khola. Also, we will walk and return to the Salli Lagna Pass set at 2840m height. Then, we will rejoin the Karnali River and walk on a flat path for around 4 hours to reach Dhad Kermi. Overnight at Dhad Kermi.

Day 17: Trek to Simikot (2950m) around 7 hours walk.
We will head off from Dhad Kermi and walking for around four hours, we will reach Majgaun. After that we will walk for approximately 3 hours on a fairly steep path that climbs to the Lakhna pass. From the pass, we will walk for around thirty minutes to reach Simikot. Overnight in Simikot.

Day 18: Fly to Nepalgunj
We will on this day fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you can just relax after the long trek or walk around and do some shopping. In the evening, we will get to enjoy farewell dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Departure
On this day, our representative will drive you to the airport. Hope to see you again.
